Details Introduction

Chenpi White Tea is a unique blend of aged tangerine peel (Chenpi) and white tea, offering a harmonious balance of flavor and health benefits.

Ingredients & Production

●  Chenpi: Typically sourced from Xinhui (renowned for premium Chenpi), aged for at least 3 years.

●  White Tea: Primarily Fuding white tea varieties like White Peony (Bai Mudan), Gongmei, or Shoumei.

●  Production:Fresh citrus peels are cleaned, pulp-removed, and stuffed with aged white tea. Through processes like baking over low heat, drying, cooling, and aging, the peels darken into Chenpi, allowing mutual infusion of flavors.

Flavor & Aroma

●  Aroma: A captivating blend of Chenpi’s rich citrus fragrance and white tea’s delicate floral notes, lingering and complex.

●  Taste: Smooth, mellow liquor with the sweetness of white tea and the earthy depth of Chenpi, accompanied by a long-lasting sweet aftertaste.

Health Benefits

●  Aids Digestion: Chenpi’s volatile oils and fruit acids stimulate gut motility, while white tea’s caffeine and polyphenols promote gastric secretion, easing indigestion.

●  Lowers Lipid Levels: White tea’s polyphenols and flavonoids reduce cholesterol; Chenpi’s hesperidin enhances vascular elasticity, supporting blood pressure regulation.

●  Antibacterial & Anti-inflammatory: White tea’s polyphenols offer broad-spectrum antimicrobial effects, complemented by Chenpi’s volatile oils.

●  Antioxidant: Both ingredients are rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, and vitamin C, scavenging free radicals to delay aging.

●  Relieves Cough: Chenpi’s volatile oils (e.g., limonene) act as expectorants, while white tea’s polyphenols soothe respiratory irritation.

Brewing Guide

●  Teaware: Purple clay teapots or lidded bowls (Gaiwan), paired with a fairness pitcher and strainer.

●  Dosage: Chenpi-to-white tea ratio of 1:5 to 1:10. Use 2–5g white tea + Chenpi slices per 100ml water.

●  Method: Water at 90–95°C. Initial steeps (10–15 seconds), gradually increasing by 5–10 seconds per subsequent infusion.

Selection & Storage

●  Selection:High-quality Chenpi White Tea has uniform appearance, vibrant color, and no impurities.Aroma should be potent and lasting, without off-notes.Taste is mellow with enduring sweetness; liquor is clear and bright.

●  Storage:Seal tightly and store in a dry, ventilated, odor-free environment away from sunlight. Improves with age under proper conditions.

●  Note: This 2013 vintage offers a more intense aroma and longer-lasting mellowness compared to the 2015 batch.
